How We Handle
Your Details.

Clipper Culture is a one-chair barber studio, not a data business. This page sets out exactly what we collect when you book a cut or browse the site, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how to have it corrected or deleted.

Who we are

In this policy, "we", "us" and "Clipper Culture" mean the barber studio trading as Clipper Culture, operated by Jonah Ataalla at 28 Hartford Ave, Glen Alpine NSW 2560. You can reach us on 0415 990 995, by post at that address, or by direct message on Instagram at @clipper_culture_.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy covers this website and our online booking system.

What we collect when you book

When you book through this site, our booking form asks you for:

  • Your first and last name
  • Your mobile number
  • Your email address, so we can send your confirmation
  • Any notes you choose to add, such as the style you are after
  • The service, date and time you have chosen

Your name and mobile are required, because we cannot hold a chair or let you know about a change without them. Everything else is optional. We do not ask for your date of birth, your address, or any health information, and you never need to create an account.

We do not take card payments through this website. Online card payment is switched off, so no card or bank details are collected, transmitted or stored by this site. You pay in the studio.

What the website collects automatically

Like most websites, this one records some technical information whenever a page loads, whether or not you book. That includes your IP address, your device and browser type, the pages you visit, and the site or search that sent you here.

We use this to understand which services people are looking for and whether the site is working properly. It is not used to identify you personally, and we do not sell it to anyone.

Cookies, analytics and session recording

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses three third-party tools that set them:

  • Google Analytics 4 tells us how many people visit and which pages they read. We have turned on IP anonymisation, so your full IP address is not stored by Google Analytics.
  • Microsoft Clarity records how visitors move around the site, including mouse movement, scrolling and clicks, and can replay that as an anonymous session recording. We use it to find parts of the site that confuse people. It is worth knowing this is happening, which is why we have set it out plainly here.
  • Google Ads measures whether an advertisement led to a booking or a phone call, so we are not wasting money on ads that do not work.

None of these are needed for the site to function, and none of them are used to build a profile we could sell. If you would rather not be included, you can install Google's opt-out add-on, turn on your browser's "Do Not Track" or private browsing mode, or block cookies for this site in your browser settings. Blocking them will not stop you booking a cut.

For more detail on how those companies handle data, see the Google Privacy Policy and the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Who else sees your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we never share it for someone else's marketing. We share the minimum necessary with the services that make a booking work:

  • Our SMS provider receives your mobile number and the details of your appointment so we can text you a reminder.
  • Our email provider receives your email address to deliver your booking confirmation. Email is sent through Amazon Web Services in their Sydney region.
  • Our web host stores the website and booking records on servers located in Australia.
  • Google and Microsoft receive the anonymous website usage data described above. These are overseas providers, so that information may be handled outside Australia.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, for example in response to a court order.

How long we keep it

We keep booking records for as long as we need them to run the business and meet our record-keeping obligations, and we delete them when they are no longer needed. If you ask us to delete your details sooner, we will, unless we are required to keep them. Website analytics data is kept on the retention schedules set by Google and Microsoft.

Keeping your information secure

The whole site runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and the booking system sits behind password protection with access limited to Clipper Culture and the people who maintain the site. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

Children

We cut hair for kids and teenagers, and we expect a parent or guardian to make those bookings. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child without a parent or guardian being involved.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
  • Delete your details from our booking records
  • Stop sending you reminders or messages

Just call 0415 990 995, ask next time you are in the chair, or write to us at 28 Hartford Ave, Glen Alpine NSW 2560. There is no charge, and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to confirm who you are first, so we are not handing your details to someone else.

If you are not happy with how we have handled it

Please raise it with us first, using the contact details above, so we have a chance to put it right. If you are still not satisfied, you can make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. This version was published on 7 September 2026.
